some good points there opiewon
as soon as the orbat is full we will start to get everybody on the training server an formulate some plans yes plans
One plan of attack and one of defense wont cut it this time
We will need a multitude of stratagems to win this challenge but i agree the Allied attack is going to be tougher than the Axis defense

Just to clarify what we are trying to achieve here on the squad challenge.
We want to show the playerbase how we can work as a team and be versitile to different changes to the attack or defence strategies that we may face depending on our enemy.
Saying that, as opiewan has done here is he has given his ideas and strategies for the event, if anyone has any ideas about the event, even showing map markings, no matter how new you think you are in the squad don't be afraid to voice your opinion.
Everyone in the squad matters.

Stug B

1 don t forget one of its 2 Achilles' heel , it s short on ammo .
2 degun a stug isn t so easy, almost never happens.
3 stug b ll rip the S35, mbe cru but can be killed in frontal since 1.31(?) and stu a real challenger.

i think that 3 well trained multicrew stus can by themselves almost win.

I would think people who multicrew would have to communicate well with each other and maybe even practice themselves beforehand. Shoot and Scoot with stu's is a lot easier with 2 people instead of one. We also need some infantry though, so can not dump everyone into armor and have only a handful of infantry, got to find balance.

Yes, the priority is to fill all infantry spots first so if we are down to the wire we could try to force what infantry we have left into as many pill boxes as we can coming from different directions to confuse any armour they may hold

some extensive testing on the stug is interesting. De gunning is achievable at about 200 meters but at this range lets face it you better be trying to kill the gunner not the gun.

Mortars are inacurate to the extreem if trying to use as a tank killer used over 50 rounds and did not even kill an un buttoned commander on stug.

Though with all the negatives the crusader 2 at 600 meters or The stug is a block of grey with only a small dot of black as the cannon still penitrates to kill gunner driver on the right side of tank ie the left side faceing strait on.

ok depending on tactics, I can get the stug into a forward position to cover the last leg of there trip before they top the last hill in 4.5 minuets.

I got a stu to the same spot in 4 mins so unless they are hell bent to get there in record time should be able to get into a good position for defence.

i didnt test the trucks

That's a good point by sid, if you have not or will not compete in the squad challenge your are not entitled to wear the badge.
It would be like getting a medal for an operational tour of a foreign country but not actually going.

deffenetly some key things here.

One, the time it took them to set up there attack lets the defence get into there positions.
two, It looks like they pushed the armor up faster then they could spot the defence positions.
Three, The defenders wernt very concealled.

The problem you have with placing your infantry on the tanks is that a good roaming LMG gunner could take out all or most of their infantry before they get to the target.
We need to get the paks loaded and off at the go so we have a good chance of blowing any fast advancing tanks and also any infantry on them would be killed also, maybe take the lmg's out with the paks to save time running.

The battle can change in your favour when defending if you can break up there attacking plan before they get into a position to implement it, if you manage to do this it will cause confusion to them and a lack of command and control to the commander.

Oh my. Jammy is going to give away all the squads' tactics at the very beginning of the competion instead of the end. This will be a disadvantage for the squad that has the best initial plans.

We will have to keep changing our plans during the competition.

I noticed that Blitz did not do a very good job of watching the NW approach. After our video gets posted everyone will be watching it. :(

Unless the allies approach straight up the road it will take at least 10 min to get into a threatening position
We can deploy our paks in less than 3 min

The mistake for the 7th was to divide there Armour thus making it easier to pick off

I have a morning presentation that I must give downtown, not sure when it will all be done but hope to be able to get home by 1600 CST (Squad Challenge time against Blitzkader)

Just a reminder, time is at 1700 EST (New York, USA time) Jammyman should be there around that time as well as Blitzkader, be there early please so empty slots can be filled prior to go and last checks can be made. Even if you did not sign up you can still participate by showing up and hoping there are empty spots. I believe there are 30 spots total.

Last training is this Friday, please see this thread for time ( http://91stsb.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=4855 ) **Note: scroll down a bit to see the current posts, top few are from last week**
